Laurence Polikoff, owner of PoliBrand, is a seasoned graphic designer and art director with agency staff and contract design experience. Laurence's focus is branding, with fifteen years of print and digital design experience. Laurence has expert level skills utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and others.

Industries include Advertising, B2B, B2C, Food & Beverage packaging, Wine, Product packaging, Pharmaceutical packaging, Hi-tech, Financial, Healthcare, Publishing, and Energy & Electric.

Laurence has loved art ever since he was a child. Laurence attended a few different art schools and earned a BFA from Cal State University Fullerton in 1995. After graduating, he moved from Los Angeles to the culturally rich San Francisco Bay area.

Laurence's first job out of college was working at a major Calendar publisher where he enjoyed working for three years. Laurence designed and produced custom designed calendars and yearly catalog for Golden Turtle Press. The company however sold moved their headquarters to New York.

Laurence decided to stay in the Bay area and landed a job as senior designer at a software publisher. The work here was interesting and I was responsible to direct the junior designer. After the software publisher sold to a bigger fish, Laurence decided to do some contract work which led him to start freelancing at Red Advertising (Red) in Mill Valley. The two partners at Red were big hitters in the industry and Laurence was ready to play. Laurence worked extremely hard at Red and was asked to work on staff full time which he accepted. Red was a great agency with high profile clients, but after a good run Red closed and the creative director, Don Easdon, went back to Boston. Laurence learned a great deal from Don Easdon and he is still in touch with Don.

After Red Laurence contracted at some other top design and advertising agencies in the Bay area and also gained some independent clients. After a little while Laurence then worked at Focus Design in San Rafael. Focus design was a small creative shop with great work and some high profile clients. Laurence was the only designer on staff, as senior designer at Focus Design, and he worked directly with the creative director. Laurence is very proud of all the work he did while at Focus Design. The creative director of Focus design had a terrible skiing accident that unfortunately left him mostly paralyzed from the neck down, so I wished Brian well and ventured forward.

Soon after Focus Design ended, Laurence was hired as a staff senior designer with a major nutritional supplement company named Nature's Life. Laurence worked on multiple brand extension projects while they launched their new brand. This company was eventually sold to the parent company, Nutraceutical, Inc., in Utah.

After Nature's Life Laurence decided to do more independent work as creative director and owner of Polibrand. Laurence also took some time to become certified in massage therapy and he became more in tune with my his body and health which has to this day been very beneficial. Laurence's father had a stroke in 2015 and so Laurence took care of him and his needs for a while until his father settled in a retirement home. In this time Laurence became more immersed in web and digital design and he broadened his skills set to keep up with new technologies and needs and balance the print work.

Laurence's web site portfolio has changed a few times over the years as new web building technologies emerged. I launched my current site, Polibrand.com, in early 2017. Laurence feels that doing creative work nourishes his soul and helps businesses achieve their creative goals. Laurence looks forward to continued work in the graphic design industry.

"Laurence Polikoff worked at my agency Red Advertising almost from it's inception. He was first hired part time to help out with the heavy load from Schwab, our first and primary big account. The work load was horrific. I noticed he could handle both art direction and design. When I saw that he never complained about the brutal hours I realized he needed to be a permanent part of Red. I hired him as an art director. When I parted SF to go to Boston he was a senior art director/designer. Laurence did not make mistakes. He was very thorough in following through on a project from a double page ad in the Wall Street Journal that had a 24 hr turnaround time to a month long packaging project where every detail had to be addressed in English and French. Laurence is both dependable and talented as well as a genuinely nice person to work next to. Laurence gets my best reference and I will be available to anyone who needs a verbal reference anytime."
— Don Easdon, Creative Director, Red Advertising
